Still cold, but the sun came out!

Finally, the sun made an appearance yesterday and blue skies appeared. What a difference. Everyone seemed so cheerful, everywhere looked quite beautiful and there was a glimmer of hope that Spring was round the corner!

We all had a lovely walk down by the river at lunchtime, then strolled round our beautiful little city, admiring some of the lovely features we have – taking a few pictures with the glorious blue backdrop!

Victoria Clock Tower in Ripon is steeped in history.
The Victoria Clock Tower looked superb, as we walked down North Road in Ripon towards the River Ure.

Our favourite place to spend lunchtime!
Our lunchtime walk wouldn’t be complete without a paddle in the River!

Our simply stunning Cathedral
Finally a picture of our iconic Cathedral, making Ripon one of the smallest cities in England. Well worth a visit sometime.

Early morning walks

It might start off dark, but when the sun starts to break the effects are wonderful.

We’ve had such a lot of rain recently, it looks like Archie is walking next to a lake, when in reality it’s a flooded field!

The new LED collars are fantastic! I won’t lose my boys with these on!

Wind and Spaniels

I seem to talk about the weather on a fairly regular basis! Usually because it’s not been great! Yesterday was no exception. Thankfully the rain had stopped but the wind…….well there was definitely one little pooch who was not impressed with it! His Dumbo impression is just priceless!

I do NOT like this wind!
Let’s hope for less wind, less rain and some nice bright dry days soon 😀

We have had a lot of rain recently. Rain means wet walks, wet dogs and a very wet me! It also means a rather fast flowing river, which then means no paddling!

So……we have been making our own entertainment, using a huge puddle we came across under a bridge in Ripon.

Puddle paddling!
After a dark sky full of clouds all morning, the sun managed to come out in time for our lunchtime walk, resulting in slightly more colourful pictures than expected!

Rain water tastes so delicious 😀
I just wish there was an easy way to get the dogs dry afterwards! (Oh and remove that special damp doggy odour!)

Beautiful Autumn

I have said before, I love Autumn. The colours are simply spectacular.

Our lunchtime walks each day this week, have been down by the River Ure in Ripon. Each day the colours seemed to get better and better, and we managed to take some fairly lovely pictures!

We coordinate rather nicely with the leaves!

Archie and Dexter love running through piles of leaves. It reminds me of my children who liked nothing better than picking up great handfuls and throwing them into the air! Hopefully before some dog had kindly cocked his leg on them!

Treats are always useful when trying to get Archie to sit still for a photo!

I’m making the most of photo opportunities at the moment, it doesn’t look quite as nice in the foggy dull weather we’ve also had lately!

We HAVE to have a oaddle!
No trip down to the river would be complete without a jolly good paddle!
